Deus Sol Invictus, The Unconquered Sun God. The artwork I made for Anamnesi‘s new album represents a compendium of Mithraic symbolism. The in-depth and complex lyrical concept of the band finds its visual counterpart in the extensive detail included within the pages of the booklet. From the shape of the frame which is reminiscent of the curved sword of Perseus, to the symbols of the Grades of Initiation, the most attentive among you will discover the numerous references scattered throughout the pages. As the initiate itself, you will voyage all the way from the darkness of the cave and emerge in the abode of Light.

KOMMANDANT “All Paths to God”

This is the cover for the Kommandant‘s side of the 7″ split with Animus Mortis, released by Behold Barbarity. “All Paths to God” is focused on a holy man chosen by God to be immortal. This “blessing” becomes a curse and the man rebels against the Creator by killing himself.
I symbolically translated the concept of the lyrics into the image of an arm emerging from the sea, symbol of the underworld, and holding a laurel wreath representing victory.

For the reissue on the ATMF of their debut album “As Time Goes By”, the blackgaze band Falaise asked me to reinterpret the visual concept of the album artwork. For the cover design, I tried to convey a feeling of solitude and introspection by emphasizing the contrast between the individual, alone in the distance, against a backdrop of wide open spaces.

This is my design for the limited edition one press only Katatonia t-shirt by Avantgarde Music.
I crafted it following the wish of the band to have a repress of the “Moonbride/For Funerals To Come” longsleeves originally printed in 1995!

I am honored to be chosen to make this prestigious design for the forerunners of the death doom genre.
